Metadata Filter

The metadata filter reads information stored in the image file according to the EXIF, IPTC or XMP formats.

Since the meta information is always stored as name / value pairs, it is important to specify which property should be checked.

Note. In ImageRanger each metadata property name is prefixed with schema notation prefix. Examples: EXIF:Software, IPTC:Keywords. To search for specific schema property, enter complete name, including the schema name.
When schema name is not specified, all metadata fields are used for searching.

When "Require exact property value comparison" is not checked, any value containing the entered data would be selected.

By default only a complete match will satisfy the selection filter.
The filter always works in case-insensitive mode.

Tip. If the Value field is left blank the software will try to find all images where Property metadata is present.
This could be used to locate all images with any Keywords information or any Subject data.

For example, when locating all geo tagged images simply enter "gpslat" into the Name input field. The value input must be left blank.
