The user interface of ImageRanger employs a classical approach. The main preview screen occupies most of the screen space on the right-hand side. The rest of the screen is dedicated to showing specific information regarding image search parameters, the current location, and the file properties.

 

Each component of the user interface (Browse, Archive, Keywords, Rating, etc.. ) could be moved to any position inside the main application window. To move a subwindow, drag it to a specific area on the screen. This way the ImageRanger interface can be tailored to suit any specific taste.

 

To reset the layout of windows to default mode select Window > Reset Layout from the Main Menu.

 

It is possible to show a panel once it's hidden by choosing Window -> Show .... menu items.

 

 

 

 

 

Each area supports contextual menus which can be navigated by right-clicking the mouse.

 

 

Using Browse Location View click on a folder or storage drive to navigate the ImageViewer to the concrete location. The image files should be shown on the right side in the Thumbnail View area.

 

Once the main folder is selected, all children folders can be separately checked/unchecked. This way some folders can be excluded from the image search.

 

If Include Subfolders is checked, this allows ImageRanger to gather all images inside all child folders for a selected location.

 

The Thumbnail View area shows the results of the current image search. When an image is selected on the right side of the interface, the corresponding file information is shown in the File Information View.

 

The size of the preview images shown in the Thumbnail View area can be altered by using the Ctrl + Mouse Wheel. Alternatively, using the Settings -> Options menu items from the Main Menu or by pressing Zoom In, Zoom Out buttons on the top toolbar.

 

To view the image in the full screen mode, double click on the thumbnail preview image. The file resizing options can be adjusted using the Settings -> Options menu item.
