Image keywords (sometimes called Tags) are text records associated with the contents of the image.
Setting up image keywords is easy with ImageRanger using the Keywords panel. The Keywords panel is filled automatically once the image is selected.
It is possible to enter several keywords, separated by comma symbol to add them all to the selected image.
Recently used keywords are shown with a plus sign ("+"). The list of recently used keywords is updated automatically when a new keyword is used.
Pinning keywords
Any keyword can be "pinned" to the panel so that it is allways recommended, even if it was not recently used.
Right mouse click on a keyword will show a context menu for managing this keyword tag.
To "pin" a keyword, select Always suggest.
Once a keyword is pinned, it will be always shown on the Keywords panel.
Selecting Stop suggesting will make sure the keyword is no longer shown as a recommended tag.
Note, that a limit to remember maximum number of recently used keywords can be set in the program settings.
Tagging non image files
It is also possible to assign keywords to any non-image file. In this case, the keywords information is written directly into the ImageRanger index database.
Note, that moving / copying a non-image file to a new location will erase the associated keywords.
Removing keywords
To remove a keyword, click on the "x" button shown on each keyword.
