ImageRanger provides several tools to help you remove duplicate content.
- Using the Import functionality, ImageRanger will show a confirmation dialog if a duplicate image is already present in your archive folders.
- Using the Duplicates Removal Tool it is possible to search for duplicated files and to manually confirm removal of certain files or automatically delete completely same duplicates.
The Duplicates Removal Tool can be launched by choosing Tools > Duplicates Removal.
One or more folders can be selected where ImageRanger will search for duplicate files.
Interactive Mode
Once the process is started the ImageRanger will pop up a confirmation dialog every time when new duplicate file is found.
All previously found duplicate files are shown below so that each previously found file can be separately removed.
The software may be able to find duplicate images even when they are scaled, desaturated or converted into a different image format.
Adjusting the matching sensitivity setting (Strict Match, Moderate Match, Broad Match) will help to find image files with similar content.
Automatic mode
In the automatic mode the software will delete all duplicated files.
The sensitivity setting is disabled because automatic process always compares the files completely.
Only if the files are 100% matching they are automatically deleted. This ensure that no mistakes are made during the automatic process.
